Diclofenac diethylammonium
Indications/Uses
Local symptomatic relief of pain & inflammation in tendon trauma, ligaments, muscles & joints eg, due to sprains, strains & bruises. Localized forms of soft tissue rheumatism.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult, elderly & childn ≥14 yr Spray tds-qds w/ 4 hr intervals. Max: 4 times in 24 hr. Not to be used for >7 days.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to diclofenac, ASA or NSAIDs. Precipitated attacks of asthma, urticaria or acute rhinitis by aspirin or NSAIDs. Concomitant use of oral NSAIDs & other diclofenac-contaning products. Childn & adolescent <14 yr.
Special Precautions
Discontinue use if rash develops. Not to be applied on skin wounds or open injuries & not to be used w/ occlusion. Not to be in contact w/ eyes or mucous membranes. History of active, peptic ulceration. Previous history of asthma or allergic disease. Avoid sunlight exposure.
Adverse Reactions
Allergic or non-allergic contact dermatitis; non-specific allergic reaction & anaphylaxis, resp tract reactivity comprising asthma, aggravated asthma, bronchospasm or dyspnea, assorted skin disorders ie, rashes, pruritus, urticaria, purpura, angioedema.
Drug Interactions
Increased incidence of AR w/ aspirin or other NSAIDs.
